How is None of Our Business….

Wait, what? What does that really mean? It means you build out a vision, you begin to understand what it will feel like to be living that new vision and you begin to put the pieces in place to reach that vision. Okay, so far that all makes sense. But, if we are putting the pieces in place, aren’t we building a plan? If we are building a plan, then aren’t we creating the ‘how’? Therefore, how we get from point A to point B is our business, isn’t it?

To a degree. You must do the work, and take actions toward your vision. You get to that vision, to that version of you by letting that version lead you. That version of you may have other ideas than today’s version; that version may meet new people, take on different skills, respond to opportunities differently, sees opportunities differently. If we let that version lead, then there may be new steps put in our path, new opportunities opening up and most of all, we see things from a new perspective which may change our direction, our steps, our plan!

We have all subscribed to society’s idea of planning and that it has to be precise. We must plan everything, my gosh we plan kids play time! When I was a kid, besides organized sports, playing was with whoever was around and whatever we wanted to do. There was no planned play-date. We went outside and found our friends and rode our bikes, etc. Playing and laughing was ours to have and hold onto, without it being prescribed and planned out. Today, kids lives seemed very planned as do ours. Spontaneity seems to be a lost art for many. Allowing things to flow and happen seems to be a lost art for many.

And that prescription is actually keeping a lot of us from actualizing our visions and our dreams. We believe it has to happen a certain way and exactly the way we have planned it. When it doesn’t, we very often focus on the opportunity lost instead of seeing that we are being pointed to something that may be better, may be more aligned to the vision than we could have ever thought.

For two years now, I have been focused on looking for a new home closer to the water. I wanted to be on or near the ocean, an inlet or a river near the beach. I bid on a number of houses, many in a town I really didn’t love but loved the idea of affording a home on the water(and that particular town is more affordable than others). I lost each bid, and kept saying that it wasn’t meant to be. I kept focused on not selling my house until I found something else because I loved my house. I also didn’t want to be rushing to find a place, move more than once, etc.

The Universe had a different plan. The Universe pushed me in a direction I didn’t think I would ever go in. It moved me to put the house on the market and look for a rental instead. I had convinced myself that I couldn’t rent with a dog and a cat. I had convinced myself that renting was not an option. Except it is. And it is a great way to get the energy moving toward my vision. The Law of Attraction says, “you move, I move.” If make moves that show the universe the direction you want to move, the universe says okay and begins to move you there. It throws what you need in your path. I moved by saying I was ready to leave my house and put it on the market and the Universe said, okay, here are a few options to rent that allow animals. One was across the street from the beach, where I could see and walk to water.

I moved by putting the house on the market and moving out for open houses, the Universe reciprocated by giving me an offer for my home at the end of the open houses and an approval from the apartment complex for me and my fur family! You move, I move. Take a step and the Universe takes a step. The Universe joins your cha-cha and helps you to move toward an even better outcome than your ‘plan’. Your plan is good, the Universe usually has something even better in mind.

How I got to being across from the beach for a while is none of my business, the fact that I will be is what matters. That was a part of my vision of who and what I was becoming and SHE will be where she finds peace, calm and connection. That is what living by water brings to me. And that is part of why it is in the vision of my future and my future self. Once I let go of the reins, the Universe said, here you go!
